Slim School Videos.
In this area are a few videos from Slim School.
Some are converted from almost 60 year old 8mm cine film
so they are not Hi Definition quality but you should be able to recognise people and places. My thanks to all who submitted their films. If there is anyone who can improve the quality

Video from John Dwyer. Slim 1957 to 1961.
Notes on this video: Length 4 mins 58 secs. It opens with a warning about the road up the highlands. Then we travel up the road with views of the Camerons until the school sign comes into view and we drive up to the top quad. John comes into frame. A view of the school farm area and more Cameron Highlands scenery. Then I believe a fun fair in Ipoh ends the video.
Video #01 from Valerie Ann Puddy. Slim 1963 to 1964.
Notes on this video: It opens with children on the bank up to the school and then we see a blond haired girl in the picture. This is Valerie Puddy before she went to Slim. Later we see the school sign with Maj Jordan as the Headmaster. This then puts the video between 1959 & 1961. Later there is footage of the Smoke House and again we see Valerie and family. This is followed by a view of a native village and then to what looks like All Souls Church before the brick front was built. Valerie can be seen walking through the shot in a white dress. There is also a teacher in a grey suite with his hands behind his back and my instinct tells me this is Ted Harrison. Just a guess from his stance. The remainder is self explanatary.
Video #02 from Valerie Ann Puddy. Slim 1963 to 1964.
Notes on this video: There is a slight delay before the video starts with a view of All Souls Church but now it has a brick facade built in early 1963. Pupils then file into church. The adult with the bald head might be Mr Pope the Headmaster? Next we see the playing fields in Tana Rata. Then we see Valerie and family. Next we see the new dam which is still under construction. The people in the spill-way are Valerie Puddy, Ray Puddy and Carol Myatt who were also at the school. The video ends with scenes from Robinson Falls.
Video #01 from Robin Harris. Slim 1958 to 1959.
Notes on this video: Length 4 min 20secs. Video opens with a round of golf and views of the Camerons. Later we see swimmers in the rock pool, All Souls Church. Later we see Sue Harris and friend. The video finishes with scenes from the Change of Air station for race horses.
Notes on this video: Length 4 mins 08 secs. Sports day at Slim held in Tanah Rata. This is followed by Robin at Hopetoun and ends with views of the school and Hopetoun dormitories.

Notes on this video: Length 3mins 08 secs Opens with view over golf course Cameron Highlands Hotel in background followed by Harris family picnic and finishes with some putting practice.
Notes on this video: Length 3mins 08 secs The trip back to UK on board MV Oxfordshire. The videos opens with views of the Suez Canal, then we get a brief glimpse of Robin. Then follows views of Port Said and scenes of on board deck games and fancy dress. The youngster dressed as a Communist Torrorist is Peter Harris, Robin's younger brother. We then get views of the Rock of Gibralter with the video closing on arrival at Southampton docks."

Notes on this video: Length 9 mins 18 secs. Video opens on the road to Ipoh before turning off to the right signposted Cameron Highlands. Views driving up the road passing the roadside aboriginal huts. We then pass a sign advising that "You are now entering the state of Pahang". Driving on, the school sign appears and we drive up the road to the top quad. There now follows a scout and girl guide jamboree with Ted Harrison and Staff Sgt McNicol (later to become Ted's wife) leading the troops. This is followed by views of Hopetoun and the school and environs finishing with more views of the highlands.
