John Cox's report on Slim School Reunion - Saturday 18th May 2019

Once again we all met up at the Mercure Hotel in Leicester for a 2019 reunion and it turned out to be as fabulous as the ones before in different places. The venue was fitting as well transporting us back in time with the décor looking a bit like the old buildings in Malaya when we were on our learning curve. 

Meeting up at 1830 with a glass of bubbly to start the evening not that it needed much starting but great to meet up with friends from the past and chew over the bygone ages. Later we went up to a reception hall and wined and dined on a great dinner topped with it being Frank Masseys birthday so a cake came out to celebrate the occasion, strangely in keeping with the 21st century there were 2 cakes one being vegetarian which was a new one on me so tried both and grand they were.

Carrying on tradition with all the photographs coming out, some new ones as well, so they are still out there hiding in the attics and the evening carried on well into the night. We all met up at various times for breakfast and farewells till the next trip which has to be on the cards sometime in the future we hope. 

Thanks a million to Margo for all the work put in to getting it up and running and the setting up, may long it continue and thanks to all who attended to keep Slim on the map.
